Don't limit your selection to only shift knobs that have the built in hole for the reverse lockout. Now from VMS Racing comes this billet aluminum shift knob adapter that allows you to use any 12x1.25 MM threaded shift knob on your car and keep full functionality of your reverse lockout. You can now get that shift knob that you always wanted!

This Shift Knob Adapter will go on before the shift knob and it acts as a jamb nut.

This is very easy to install: Place your shifter into the reverse position. Install the VMS Racing shift knob adapter until it contacts the reverse lockout pull-up. Then just back it off one turn and install the shift knob. To finish just align your shift knob to desired position and tighten the adapter and knob against one another to secure in place.

Product that I ordered came free of damage and works as it should

Perfect. Just what the "doctor" ordered!

After getting my 2018 Mustang GT last year, I purchased a purple shifter knob to replace the obnoxious (IMO) red one the car came with.

To my disappointment while the new knob fit, it was a classic ball without the lower cutout and so the shifter collar was exposed, as was the brass nut that stopped the shifter ball from going too low.

The company I originally bought the shifter knob from also sold these collars (or similar), but with tax AND shipping the cost from them was $35+. Almost twice the price from VMS Racing.

Instead, I went with these guys, placed my order Monday morning, and it was in my mailbox Saturday afternoon, less than a week later.

Fitting the collar to the shifter was VERY easy (just remember to shift INTO Reverse first!), and I really like how it not only hides the shifter bolt and collar, but it almost looks like it's stock.
